THE FUNDAMENTAL BELIEFS OF AIS ALIGN WITH COUNSELING
WE BELIEVE THAT OUR A.I.S COMMUNITY EXCELS WHEN…
Everyone is capable of learning.
Everyone learns in different ways, and learning programs should be adapted to this.
The mental, emotional, and physical well-being of students and staff is a priority.
Students demonstrate success in various ways and learn resilience and confidence through learning in an environment that provides a balance of support and challenge.
THE OPTIMAL MATCH CENTER OF ALTAMIRA (OMC)
Offers students from Nursery to grades PK-12 a comprehensive program to meet their social, emotional, and academic needs. It is based on an SEL curriculum where individuals develop competencies such as self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. Additionally, it provides strategies to help students with different learning styles develop their strengths, meet their needs, and reach their full potential. OMC students receive the necessary adjustments and accommodations within the classroom to ensure their learning is meaningful. The main objective is to reduce academic and behavioral difficulties while maximizing student performance. The center integrates both assessment and intervention within a prevention system.
EARLY CHILDHOOD INTERVENTION
This service is offered in the Nursery and Preschool sections. Its aim is to provide additional instruction and practice to those students who require it to achieve their goals. It seeks to prevent future academic difficulties and enhance learning opportunities. There is a strong foundation in the learning process of English and mathematics. It is designed to work with intervention both inside and outside the classroom, depending on the needs of each student.
RTI (RESPONSE TO INTERVENTION)
Support various levels of readiness related to content.
Teachers employ “scaffolded activities” so that all students can acquire essential understanding, knowledge, and skills, but at different levels of complexity.
