Interview with Giancarlo Figueroa

1. Do you consider that the learning given by the Altamira College has contributed to who you are today?

 

Of course, in fact, much of my training I owe to the College, it was very wide, because, it has an excellent education, that prepared me to be a competent person. But above all, it highlights learning in terms of values and human quality. I believe that, the student of the Altamira College is a healthy person, full of virtues, and this is mainly because of what the institution promotes, like the "skills" the "GLO's" that motivate the student also to be a good person, full, with values and that is why we learn. It highlights my academic and personal training, the values that they inculcated in me and the values that I learned from the people around me.

 

2. In what aspects do you consider that the education we provide as an institution has made it possible to build your purpose of life?

 

The education provided by the Altamira school is of very good quality, as the student is prepared to study any career. And this is due to the excellent academic training, in the classroom and the high demand compared to other schools. But it is also due to the extracurricular activities that the school promotes. For example: The model of united nations (AISMUN), the oratory skills, all these activities that enrich the student's communicative qualities. That is why I think we are very well prepared to study most university careers. For my part, I was very influenced by the great preparation we have in the area of exact sciences, such as physics... That's why I decided to study engineering, I finally chose Civil Engineering. I am very happy to have chosen that career, and I am very grateful to the school because I came very well prepared to college and thanks to that I was made much more easy on the way.

 

3. What messages do you leave to students who are in the last years of school today?

 

To the students who are on the eve of graduation I leave these three messages:

1. First, I know it's a time of uncertainty for many because it starts a new stage in your lives and generates a little anxiety this time, but I want you to be calm because the preparation received at school is of very good quality and you will realize that on average you will be better prepared than the other students. A student with the seal of the Altamira school regardless of the university where he is being respected is recognized as a person prepared on a higher level than others. That is not to be trusted, the important thing is how they face this new stage.

2. The second is, have confidence in yourself, believe in you, because it is what really matters for one to be able to get what is proposed, no matter if our parents, our loved ones believe in us if we do not believe in what we are able to do, it is certainly the key to being able to achieve everything we propose.

3. Finally, do things with passion and always seek to do them the right way, do things right. This really makes the road easier, more welcoming, at this new stage of their lives, both in their university career and in their lives. I know that doing things with passion and acting in a right way will help you meet your goals.
