Altamira International School seeks to become a green school; contributing to global sustainability. Starting with the future in mind, design a learning experience for students, which trains them to lead the world towards a healthier, cleaner and more sustainable future. It integrates the educational program, the physical place and the organizational culture to support sustainability, thus providing the necessary tools to solve the global challenges they face today and in the future.

With strong footsteps begins its green project, incurring an investment of more than $ 700 Million Pesos in a solar park that provides the institution with 33% clean energy. This will be located over the STEM Building of our institution and in the parking lots of the administrative building, covering a total area of 800 m2, with latest technology solar panels.

Additionally, the College implemented an automation system, a classroom automation solution, which seeks to raise awareness about energy savings by integrating technology into the intelligent design of our campus. Currently, all classrooms, offices and certain common spaces have intelligent sensors with the ability to interrupt the electrical fluid once these spaces are free of use.

These initiatives are part of our PRAE (Corporate Environmental Responsibility Plan), which seek to position the school as a conscious institution, which seeks to generate a reduced environmental impact, guaranteeing the training of young people with a “mindset” that points to sustainability global.

The administrative area offers all the support to academic processes and develops activities to respond to financial, computer, environmental, human management and operations logistics issues, becoming an inherent dimension of the schools organization, which supports, interacts and focuses its task in the fulfillment of the institutional objectives and strategies. In effect, it is administrative management that is responsible for planning and ensuring the growth of the institution, its sustainable development, the correct allocation and efficient use of resources, the quality and continuous improvement of services and processes, the modernization of the infrastructure, respect for the environment and compliance with administrative policies, in a harmonious integration with the academic strategy in the constant pursuit of excellence.

The institution offers adequate and sufficient spaces for the development of its substantive and support functions, and that favor the welfare of the institutional community. The growth, development and sustainability of the physical infrastructure obeys to the vision and strategies defined in the development plans. The campus, sustainable, modern, safe, logically organized, with large green areas and gardens in an environmental environment, has been designed to guarantee the coherent development of the missionary activities of the Institution. The architecture, inclusive and in constant evolution, transforms the spaces to improve the relationship and interaction of the community and its immediate surroundings, expressing a unique robust identity. The primary objective of the school leadership regarding physical plant management is the planning, design and execution of new projects such as the schools new cafetorium, administrative and STEAM building, that allow the harmonious development of the campus.

The Master Plan of Physical Development is the reference framework document that offers an overview of the physical component of the school, aspects related to its history, zoning, environment, physical structure, accessibility, mobility, growth criteria, physical ordering of the campus and environmental conditions. Priority is given to the needs for growth, development and strengthening of infrastructure at the service of academia, research, extension and management to modernize current spaces and create new ones supported by designs and technologies that allow us to make them comfortable, aesthetic and functional.

The physical plant projects include the efficient use of the campus and the support infrastructure, compliance with safety standards, long-term sustainability criteria, tree planting plans, the landscape environment and the accessibility solution for people with a disability.

The development of the current lands, will guarantee the growth and institutional development, coherent with the substantive functions, in the next years. With the leveling of the terrain, the school gained access to new development grounds, with the with the purpose of strengthening the competitive advantage and being able to execute new academic projects, sports, cultural, recreational and services spaces that support the institutional progress. Additionally, in the same period 2010 to 2015 and then to 2019, construction increased by 790 m2 and 4,636 m2 respectively, which represents a 94% growth from 2010 to 2019. Consistent with the missionary functions, the construction index went from 15.6% in 2010 to 30.5% in 2019 and the occupation index went from 5.22% to 19% in that same period of analysis.
